Spring is finally here!

I will admit it, I was worried and discouraged this morning. When we woke up and I saw the bright and beautiful sun, I thought for sure a day outdoors was in the works. Little did I know that the Arctic wind blowing our way was dragging our 6’C temperature down to below freezing, making my entire body shake from the humidity and cold. At that moment, I was done with it. Write my husband at work and told him I couldn’t do it anymore.

The day moved on, clouds rolled by, gray and blue mixed in the sky, but the wind finally wound down and finally it felt like spring. Tonight, I took a few minutes before the sun set to walk around our home. Oh what happy surprises I found :

About Yanic A.

Hello to all of you and thank you for stopping by! My name is Yanic. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband, a mother of 2 beautifully complex and unique children and a lover of all things inspiring. Having started a personal journey of self discovery when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago, I've since embraced a daily life of simpler pleasures and gratitude. As we get to know each other, you will know me as a quilter, a gardener, a Tao cultivator, a vegetarian foodie, a true believer in a healthy family life as being the secret to my happiness and hopefully as time goes on, a friend... I will try to share with you my days as they unfold, speaking of my happy successes without censoring my challenges, trying to make this blog a true portrait of the ever-changing path that I have chosen for myself. I'm hoping to find in these pages others to share with and learn from, bringing to light the absolute connection in all things and people, showing this world as being a true community.

Hi…andI am very jealous. Where are you? I am up in NE MN and it is only 29 degrees here right now tonight, and we had a blizzard all day and got around two new inches of snow. Prom is Saturday for our grand kids and our high will be around 40…..but SUNNY…hurray!!! I love your pictures here. They are so lovely I use them as screensavers…so now will use the crocus here. In Illinois, growing up, we always had crocus. . Up here…maybe in late June if we are lucky…ha ha ha..thanks again for your lovely blog. You do a terriffic job here. I love it. —Merri

What sweet words. Thank you. When I started my blog, it was so I could keep a sort of diary of my family and our lives. I wasn’t expecting so many to find interest in it. For that I’m truly thankful because this blogging community is an amazing one. I’ve met so many wonderful people that share my same views. It means a lot that you enjoy my writing.

I’m just outside of Quebec City, Canada. We have the St-Lawrence River to bring in some heat which zones us 4A instead of the 3 that the mountains around the city get. But don’t be mistaken! We are getting really cold weather still here. It won’t really warm up until early May (from what they have been forecasting)

Sending you warm and happy Spring thoughts!

Thank you! It was touch and go on my mood there for a while, but that little glimpse of new life just sent me spinning yesterday! Told my daughter about the little crocuses, now she made us promise to show her this morning. I think we are ALL due for spring!
