How is your garden growing?

About Yanic A.

Hello to all of you and thank you for stopping by! My name is Yanic. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband, a mother of 2 beautifully complex and unique children and a lover of all things inspiring. Having started a personal journey of self discovery when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago, I've since embraced a daily life of simpler pleasures and gratitude. As we get to know each other, you will know me as a quilter, a gardener, a Tao cultivator, a vegetarian foodie, a true believer in a healthy family life as being the secret to my happiness and hopefully as time goes on, a friend... I will try to share with you my days as they unfold, speaking of my happy successes without censoring my challenges, trying to make this blog a true portrait of the ever-changing path that I have chosen for myself. I'm hoping to find in these pages others to share with and learn from, bringing to light the absolute connection in all things and people, showing this world as being a true community.

  1. Now I’m a bit jealous. Because of the drought, I decided not to do any veggie plantings this year. Zucchini?

Actually lemon squash, but I have zucchini blossoms as well. They started flowering inside this year. LOL! So with the warm wet they are announcing this week-end, figured it was a great time to plant! 🙂

Maybe you could just have little potted veggies, like cherry tomatoes or peas?

      • I think I’m terrible with potted things! I always forget to water and they seem to dry out so fast. We already had two 100 degree days this week. I’ll just make a point to enjoy the farmers market more this year. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Gorgeous! We don’t have any blooms yet, but I just planted bolero storage carrots, more mokum quick carrots, copra onion seedling, and spinach yesterday. I still haven’t moved the squash, broccoli, cukes, or cut flowers outside, and haven’t planted beans. We have rain today and for the next few days, so as long as the forecast is good, I think I’ll get the rest in the ground when it’s dry!

I checked the forecast for the next 14 days and we are above average, even a night. So I took a chance cause my squashe, zuccs aand cucs were blooming indoors. Never good!!!! Planted beans yesterday. They are zone 3 heirloom runner beans and we are zone 4B. We should be good. If not, we are equiped to protect at night. 🙂
