My name is Yanic. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband, a mother of 2 beautifully complex and unique children and a lover of all things inspiring. Having started a personal journey of self discovery when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago, I've since embraced a daily life of simpler pleasures and gratitude. As we get to know each other, you will know me as a quilter, a gardener, a Tao cultivator, a vegetarian foodie, a true believer in a healthy family life as being the secret to my happiness and hopefully as time goes on, a friend... I will try to share with you my days as they unfold, speaking of my happy successes without censoring my challenges, trying to make this blog a true portrait of the ever-changing path that I have chosen for myself.

Yeah it was so funny : Rogue ready radish… all the other ones are no where close to being ready. That one just couldn’t wait! 🙂

Looks good! The bad news at our end is that the huge, juice strawberries at the ‘potager’ are hollow inside. Slugs, I guess… Our crops have been decimated by the slimy critters.

I’m sorry. We have yet to grow a single strawberry that we have been able to eat. We have field mice that eat them all. So this year, we transplanted the plants into a huge planter pot on the balcony. We have flowers so hopefully, we’ll be able to pick a small bowl of our own this year! I just love all this gardening bliss! Our peas are just starting to come up and our potatoes (which we planted in a container) seem to be doing very well. We’re waiting for our corn to sprout and then we’ll be planting our beans and squash (we’re attempting a 3 sisters component in our garden).
I love gardening season.

How lovely… What is a 3 sisters component? I’ve never heard of that… Our potatoes are doing really well also. Maybe it’s the late spring?
