Little Miss : Self directed play has always been a bit tough for you. You want our help, you want our input, you need to know that what you are doing is right according to our standards. How I wish you would always understand that you are smart, capable and wonderful. I see your confidence wavering sometimes, it breaks my heart. You will do so many amazing things. You will see… ❤

Little Man : We are seeing more and more of a shift in you. What use to seem like random actions are defining themselves. We have started to see certain preferences and interests. I used to worry about the fact that you didn’t want to do any of the traditional toddler things, but the things you choose to do are just as amazing. Our home will have it all : art, music, sports… There will never be a boring moment. ❤

About Yanic A.

Hello to all of you and thank you for stopping by! My name is Yanic. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband, a mother of 2 beautifully complex and unique children and a lover of all things inspiring. Having started a personal journey of self discovery when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago, I've since embraced a daily life of simpler pleasures and gratitude. As we get to know each other, you will know me as a quilter, a gardener, a Tao cultivator, a vegetarian foodie, a true believer in a healthy family life as being the secret to my happiness and hopefully as time goes on, a friend... I will try to share with you my days as they unfold, speaking of my happy successes without censoring my challenges, trying to make this blog a true portrait of the ever-changing path that I have chosen for myself. I'm hoping to find in these pages others to share with and learn from, bringing to light the absolute connection in all things and people, showing this world as being a true community.

What beautiful words you have for your children, Yanic. And, there’s no need to worry so much – they will surely find there way and become confident and well adjusted because of all the love you give them.

  2. Great minds and tender souls can have wavering confidence sometimes. I believe that is due to being so creative and thinking out of the box. As long as you support her, show her love and respect her ideas… She will be strong and amazing individual. As for the Little Man, I see you have a star in the house! 🙂

He just loves “playing” music. I’m thinking that is an avenue we will explore with both of them to some extent. She just got exposed to a few very heavy handed kids at her current preschool and you know how 4 yo kids can be. Some of them can be very blunt and she is a very sensitive soul. We are raising her to not pass judgment on others, so she gets very sad and confused when others pass judgment on her. She will be stronger for it later on. We just have to make sure she knows how wonderful she is. And that is pretty easy… cause she’s pretty darn wonderful! 🙂

Thank you Karen… They ARE growing up so fast. I can’t believe it. Sometimes I just want time to stop a bit. I’m so happy I’m home to experience it all. xo

Yes I understand what you mean. 🙂 Last week really wasn’t a “look at the camera” kind of week. I’m thinking as the warmer months come, it will be more action shots. LOL!

  7. Hi Yanic! I’ve been struggling to keep up with blog life lately, so I am doing a bit of catch up now. I always love the way you right about your kiddos, the way you honor them. Thanks for sharing!
