30/52 – Her & Him

A portrait of my son, once a week, every week, in 2015.

Little Man : You’ve always been a happy boy, but nothing makes you happier than being let loose in a safe but challenging environment. They are not always easy to come by, those “Little Man Approved” spaces, but when we find one, we hang on to it and this new beach we found will be visited often. You could run forever, jumping in and out of long grasses, climbing over rocks. We found waterfalls, leaning willow trees, caves and huge pieces of driftwood. You were in heaven. I love watching you breath in the world around you. I hope you understand that mama never wants to restrain you, but sometimes, she has no choice. But I promise you, I will always make it up to you. ❤

Little Miss : What a little lady you are becoming. Most days, you are perfectly happy being my baby girl. But every once in a while, I turn around and you are all grown up. Although it can be a bit challenging these days, I know we are working towards a common goal : A peaceful, mindful family setting that is the right fit for all. I hope you will keep working on it with me, we are bound to get it figured out! ❤

About Yanic A.

Hello to all of you and thank you for stopping by! My name is Yanic. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband, a mother of 2 beautifully complex and unique children and a lover of all things inspiring. Having started a personal journey of self discovery when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago, I've since embraced a daily life of simpler pleasures and gratitude. As we get to know each other, you will know me as a quilter, a gardener, a Tao cultivator, a vegetarian foodie, a true believer in a healthy family life as being the secret to my happiness and hopefully as time goes on, a friend... I will try to share with you my days as they unfold, speaking of my happy successes without censoring my challenges, trying to make this blog a true portrait of the ever-changing path that I have chosen for myself. I'm hoping to find in these pages others to share with and learn from, bringing to light the absolute connection in all things and people, showing this world as being a true community.

Oh yes, we are already planning to go back with friends next week-end. And it is opened year round (depending on the tides) so I think there will be a lot if winter exploration of the ice sheets as well. 🙂

I really love your portraits this week, so precious! You little man seems so happy, its joy is communicative! And your little miss, so peaceful at that moment! Nice to see both of them so alive…

Thank you Sandra… Joy was definitely a key emotion all week-end long. And we made the most of that beautiful day. We’ve been getting so much rain. It was a welcome break even though it was a bit cool. And yes, quiet moments are rather rare, catching them on film is an exploit. 🙂

Yes, that book is one of our favorites here. All 3 in the series are. Such wonderful and engaging story telling.

Oh my, he just fell in love with that place. If ever you guys come this way, I can tell you right now, we will be spending the better part of a day there. Truly a natural gem.

I love the letters you write each week focusing on something that has happened or something that is on your mind. What a treasure and I wish I would have done something similar….

Such memories you are storing away Yanic. I can see how much your babies are growing, it happens so fast. Love seeing their beautiful faces and reading your words.

Thank you Tracey. I’m so grateful everyday for this beautiful project. My mother started following my blog a few months back but never really stopped to read it. She would look at the pictures. She doesn’t know what made her stop and read this time around and asked me this morning if I was the one writing the text under the pictures. LOL! I said of course, why? She said “cause it’s 100X better than a baby book.” I must agree.

Your son reminds me so much of mine. So happy when let loose outside. So free and sweet and just exactly where he wants to be. Wishing you more sweetness with both your munchkins.

Super, merci!
