33/52 – Her & Him (late post)

A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2015.

Little Miss : It’s been a big and busy week : Family in town, loosing your first tooth, buying your first school supplies, your first school clothes, first bee sting (on your eye to make it extra special)… So many firsts! It’s been a bit of rough waters to travel, but the storm is passing. The heat and lack of sleep haven’t helped. But we love you and no matter what happens, we wake up in the morning to a new, blank slate of a day. Growing up is rough business, isn’t it my love? I would like to be able to tell you you that it gets easier, but I promised I would never lie. No matter what though, we will be right there with you the whole way. You are going to rock this new chapter of your life. You are smart, kind and curious. You will eat up school in one big bite.  ❤

Little Man
: Oh, it’s been hard to get a good picture of you this week. You have taken to running away from the camera as a game. So many pictures of the back of your head. But mama is quicker! 🙂 Such a playful little man. I hope you always keep that bright, beautiful smile of yours. It lights up my world.  ❤

About Yanic A.

Hello to all of you and thank you for stopping by! My name is Yanic. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband, a mother of 2 beautifully complex and unique children and a lover of all things inspiring. Having started a personal journey of self discovery when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago, I've since embraced a daily life of simpler pleasures and gratitude. As we get to know each other, you will know me as a quilter, a gardener, a Tao cultivator, a vegetarian foodie, a true believer in a healthy family life as being the secret to my happiness and hopefully as time goes on, a friend... I will try to share with you my days as they unfold, speaking of my happy successes without censoring my challenges, trying to make this blog a true portrait of the ever-changing path that I have chosen for myself. I'm hoping to find in these pages others to share with and learn from, bringing to light the absolute connection in all things and people, showing this world as being a true community.

  1. She looks so grown up! I bet she’ll love school, and they’ll love her, too.

She does… she’s just so tall. I think she’s grown 2 inches this summer already. Isn’t it easy to worry about your kids? I know she’ll be amazing…

      • Oh worry… ❤ We are visiting our son in Tacoma, Washington. He is 26 and in the Air Force, all grown up and quite capable. Sunday evening he had a bike crash. His front tire hit an edge and the bike stopped and he did not. He landed on his chest/face/shoulder. He had a bad concussion, went to the hospital for tests. He's pretty sore, headache. The helmet saved his life, or at least his brain. Worry… You don't get to stop.

The eye is much better. It was a sweat bee sting so the swelling went down pretty quickly with the Benadryl. Now, she just looks like she has quite a nice shiner. And yes, he,s been making those little devilish faces more and more… He cracks me up!

Exciting days ahead for you all. I’m sorry to hear about the bee sting. Those are never fun. A first tooth is exciting and school! Her curls are just darling as is his grin. Be well.

Ouch for that bee sting, not nice, and lots of luck for school – for both of you. And what a lovely photo of your little man, gorgeous smile, worth the effort of getting it.
