Going on an adventure…

It’s been a while since we’ve really left the house. We’ve been off on little 24 hour jaunts here and there, but to leave our home, our homenstead, our cats, our little life for several days in a row, now THAT is an adventure. And to visit a wonderful friend and her family for the first time makes it that much more special!

So I will be off line for the next 4 days. My 52 Project portraits will be late this week-end, so will my Saturday Garden Inspiration post (which should turn into an “Oh My God!” Garden Inspiration post since we are leaving our gardens to fend for themselves for almost a week).

So I wish all of you a wonderful week-end filled with sunshine and adventures of your own.

About Yanic A.

Hello to all of you and thank you for stopping by! My name is Yanic. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband, a mother of 2 beautifully complex and unique children and a lover of all things inspiring. Having started a personal journey of self discovery when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago, I've since embraced a daily life of simpler pleasures and gratitude. As we get to know each other, you will know me as a quilter, a gardener, a Tao cultivator, a vegetarian foodie, a true believer in a healthy family life as being the secret to my happiness and hopefully as time goes on, a friend... I will try to share with you my days as they unfold, speaking of my happy successes without censoring my challenges, trying to make this blog a true portrait of the ever-changing path that I have chosen for myself. I'm hoping to find in these pages others to share with and learn from, bringing to light the absolute connection in all things and people, showing this world as being a true community.

Have a grand adventure my friend. Plants have been growing since the beginning of time, they will fend for them selves just fine while you are gone. Shine on.

Must have been very exciting before you left, and now I’m curious to see how your garden fared without you! When you told me you had about 50 tomato plants to look after I was hugely in awe of how you cope when you’re there never mind catching up after a week away!

The gardens did very well. W e are mostly caught up on harvesting (and by caught up, I mean we are down to the normal craziness) but we were lucky enough that there was a bit of rain and nice heat so the beds were bursting. šŸ™‚ And the tomato plants at this point take care of themselves. We’ve actually been getting to that point where they are empty and we are ripping them out. About half are gone now and we still have hundreds of tomatoes to go. We are blessed this year.
