It was all about letting the day lead us today. How is it Autumn already? My brain feels like I’ve lost time somewhere, but my body says to let it go. It’s been a wonderful summer my friends, but I’m ready to settle into this slow and cozy period.
We kept our Equinox celebration simple : Taking in nature, eating from the garden (my plate looks more like August then late September, but I will take it!) and spending a slow darkening evening together. As much as it would have been lovely to share it with friends, it’s been a hectic few weeks again and I cherish every moment I have with my husband and babies.
There have been quite a few changes around here lately : School, birthdays, weekly therapy for Little Man’s sensory issues, play group for him one morning a week giving me a block of time to concentrate on my herbal studies, my husband doing work related training from home… So again, a new rhythm must be found. But somehow, even though I’m a bit more tired, my heart isn’t toggled. Because as jostled as I am right now, it feels right. And that is a good feeling my friends.
Happy Autumn Equinox everyone
May this season bring you color and calm.

A lovely intro into Autumn. Here’s hoping the peace and beauty touch you all and help bring both of our families back into rhythm and harmony again. It’s been a tough summer for both of our families, but my how we have grown.

Yes, our routine is a little muddled too for some reason. Fall does help though. That promise of crispness, that explosive beauty, the settling down of nature for a long sleep, the harvest . Hoping that the peace and beauty of autumn is a soothing balm to you and your beautiful family.

In one of our new favorite books (Flether and the Flling Leaves), there is a line that reads : “The rich green of the forest was turning to a dusty gold and the soft. swishing sound of summer was fading to a crinkly whisper.” What a wonderful image.
Wishing that same peace and beauty to you and your beautiful ones my friend. Stay warm…

We love Autumn here. It is one of our favorite seasons. We also kept our Equinox celebration simple. A nice dinner and a drawing about the changes in nature surrounding us. We are ready to welcome the shorter days, the evenings with candles and the beauty of wind and rain storms!
About the routine, yes, September always brings a shift, a busyness almost impossible to avoid completely. But going with the flow and take it one bit at a time helps 🙂
About your books, I already know “The Story of the Snow Children”, that we enjoy very much, but I didn’t know “The Story of the Wind Children”. Is it one of your favorite? It looks great!

Oh yes… looking forward to those nice storms. They are always so amazing this time a year.
We have a tradition of adding 3 new “season friendly” books to our library every seasonal shift. We knew of The Root Children and Mother Earth and her children, but this one was new to us. We love dit. We have Story of the Snow Children for our list for Winter Solstice. But I have to say, my happy surprise was how much I LOVED Fletcher and the falling leaves. Oh my, such a touching and mindful story. They aart work is also beautiful.

Happy Autumn to you too! I’m feeling more accepting of it this year than usual, although perhaps that’s because we had a pretty wet, cool Summer! Hope you’re all enjoying the pull to snuggle up a bit more and start wrapping up on walks.

Maybe so… it would make sense. Our summer was strange at first, but August and September were so very lovely that I feel I got a wonderful season out of it. But like I’ve said before, I love the cool. Stay warm dear Sally and happy fall to you too!
