39/52 – Her & Him

A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2015.

Little Miss : You’ve been sick and very VERY tired this week. It was your first full week of school and you had to catch a cold on top of it all, poor darling. We couldn’t figure out how to cheer you up tonight and we finally found a way… Just a few minutes walk from our home, we have an opening onto the river and there was the Moon. You were so excited you actually forgot about the fever and the aches that have been following you around. It was so nice to see you smile.  ❤

Little Man : It was 0’C (32’F) felt when we woke up this morning and barely a few degrees warmer by the time we headed out for our morning hike. Getting you dressed was a challenge : I don’t think you quite understood why yesterday, you were wearing shorts and today, you had to be bundled up from head to toe. The final blow was the mittens. Poor baby, sensory processing and mittens do NOT go hand and hand, but you made it your own. I know as you get used to it, you’ll find other ways to connect with your surroundings, but until then, we will walk this new world together.  ❤

About Yanic A.

Hello to all of you and thank you for stopping by! My name is Yanic. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband, a mother of 2 beautifully complex and unique children and a lover of all things inspiring. Having started a personal journey of self discovery when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago, I've since embraced a daily life of simpler pleasures and gratitude. As we get to know each other, you will know me as a quilter, a gardener, a Tao cultivator, a vegetarian foodie, a true believer in a healthy family life as being the secret to my happiness and hopefully as time goes on, a friend... I will try to share with you my days as they unfold, speaking of my happy successes without censoring my challenges, trying to make this blog a true portrait of the ever-changing path that I have chosen for myself. I'm hoping to find in these pages others to share with and learn from, bringing to light the absolute connection in all things and people, showing this world as being a true community.

Wow! Shorts to freezing in one night is pretty impressive as temperature drops go! I love that the supermoon cheered up your darling girl, you’ll get the eclipse this evening won’t you while I’ll be getting up at 2.30 – it’s too cool to miss it!

Hello Carie. YES! It starts at 8h20pm and will be at it’s peak around 10h30 to end around 1am. I might not last until 1 am, but I will be watching until after the peak for sure. Happy Eclipse to you!

Aw, sorry your little miss isn’t feeling well, but glad to hear the moon could cheer her up 🙂 So hard when we have to put those warmer clothes on, it always takes time to get used to the extra layers.

Hope you guys enjoyed your weekend.

I think I’m the only weird one that loves getting her layers out, washed and on! LOL!

She’s feeling much better today : A long night sleep yesterday and an extra long nap this afternoon have done wonders. Fever is gone and she’s got her appetite back. My kiddos are champs at snapping back. 🙂

Hope you had a lovely week-end as well. xox

I hope your Little Miss is feeling better now. A quick walk in nature can heal a lot. I’m glad it lifted her spirit. As for the mittens…. Not looking forward to that battle this winter. We may have to resort to duct tape and quick dry cement to keep them on our boys 😉

He did well with them after a while, but yes… I have a feeling that as we move from little woolen mitts to full blown winter ready gear, the battles will get harder. Or maybe not. They might surprise us!

She is feeling much better now, thank you. I’m blessed with kiddos that get over stuff in 48 hours most of the time.

Oh dear, hope your little miss has shaken it off. I always find back to school brings out all the bugs. And oh dear to the mittens too, guess the wrapping up part of the cooler season isn’t much fun after all. But what an amazing moon it’s been to help with cheering up.

She has been feeling much better thank you… Looks like it was a short lived bug. Little Man got it too, but it was over in 3 days. I like those… 🙂

Yep, lots of ups and downs here weather wise. That same afternoon, the tems climbed up to apmost 20’C, then the next day, same thing. 2 days ago, it was 28’C and yesterday, not even 10’C with wind and rain… Gotta love our wacky weather this year!
