Little Man : Such a playful little man. You love to make us laugh. And little puts you in a better mood than a morning out in the cold sunny air and basket of fresh-cut fries at the farmer’s market! I often speak of simple pleasures my love, and what has taken me years to understand, you embody in your wise 2-year-old soul. Thank you for being my teacher. ❤

Little Miss : Rhythm… Ours is a bit of a lopsided bongo these days, but we’ll get it down. I feel a transition coming. A growth spurt maybe, or something bigger. A maturity stage, a part of you that is letting you know you are growing and you are letting us know as well. You’re had trouble sleeping, your mind racing… So many new things coming at you these days. We’ll need to find a way to help you relax, and we will. ❤

My name is Yanic. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband, a mother of 2 beautifully complex and unique children and a lover of all things inspiring. Having started a personal journey of self discovery when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago, I've since embraced a daily life of simpler pleasures and gratitude. As we get to know each other, you will know me as a quilter, a gardener, a Tao cultivator, a vegetarian foodie, a true believer in a healthy family life as being the secret to my happiness and hopefully as time goes on, a friend... I will try to share with you my days as they unfold, speaking of my happy successes without censoring my challenges, trying to make this blog a true portrait of the ever-changing path that I have chosen for myself.
I'm hoping to find in these pages others to share with and learn from, bringing to light the absolute connection in all things and people, showing this world as being a true community.

Thank you so much… I’m addicted to snapping… I’ll just take picture after picture. I love my children’s every whim and fancy. To have them in picture makes my day. I’ll sit and look at their lovely faces all the time.

Little man is obviously on to something, fresh fries at the farmers market sounds fantastic! And I wonder whether your a lovely girl is finding her way just as our is – it must be something about being five!

It must be. Many I’ve talked to mention their kiddos going through the same thing. Growing up is tough business!
And yes… never argue the wisdom of a 2 year-old’s belly rumblings!

Looks like your little man is playing peek a boo..cute!!! Your little miss is about to enter the six/seven change, it starts around five and a half…big time of transition on so many levels.

looking at your little man i still can’t believe the diagnostic doctors gave you… he looks so happy and even extroverted!

All autistic kids are so different. Some have a lot of problems in social settings, others don’t at all. Little Man’s issues aare more semsory, communicative and cognitive. Socially, he is pretty adept… just hard sometimes because he doesn’t speak. 🙂

lovely. Both of my kids became a little bit clumsy and out of sorts right before a growth spurt! I hope your daughter settles and finds her relaxation and rhythm 🙂

I really hope so as well. She has been experiencing quite a bit of anxiety. I’m hoping to find some way to ease her mind soon. Poor sweetie…

I hope your daughter can find some peace soon. I think it’s a difficult age; my daughter is a little older than yours but she often feels stress very keenly and worries a lot. I was the same way, even worse really, when I was around their age. I’m sure you’ll find what works for your little one. Take care and have a good week, Yanic.

Thank you Jennifer… I’m sure we will. Like you, I was a stressed out child. So apple doesn’t fall far right? We have been trying to get her to express her feelings more. Hopefully we will find a window into that little soul. 🙂 Have a wonderful week yourslef!

Très belles photos. On sent bien toute la joie de vivre dans celle de ton petit garçon et une réelle introspection dans celle de ta petite fille. Oui, grandir, c’est magnifique, mais ce n’est pas toujours facile. Être à l’écoute et être présent est le plus beau cadeau à lui offrir. Je suis certaine que vous arriverez à bien naviguer tous ensemble cette “première” année scolaire si riche en découvertes.

Merci Marie! Il est tellement un petit garçon radieux. Toujours prêt à nous faire rire. C’est contagieux.
Oui, la petite semble avoir la tête et le coeur plein ces temps-ci, mais nous trouvons le moyen de se parler et de la rassurer. C’est beaucoup pour un si petit être. Je suis heureuse d’être à la maison avec elle avant et après l’école. Tellement de parents doivent compter sur le service de garde à l’extérieur des heures de cours.
