42/52 – Her & Him (late)

Little Man : Oh! How blessed were we on Thanksgiving Day? With record temperatures of 21’C (70’F), we headed to the pumpkin patch with friends and then to the beach for what would most likely be our last t-shirt and sandals day of 2015. It had been so cold the previous days, you must have felt so free without all those layers. You splashed in puddles, played in mud, ran along the banks at low tide and just soaked it all up. You were so quiet and mindful, like you were recording every last moment. You have such a beautiful soul my love, it always shines through. ❤

Little Miss : When we left the house last Saturday, you were so excited. Small flurries were falling from the sky and it smelled like winter. There was no accumulation, but it was our first snow and you were thrilled. So how excited were we all when we hit the midway point between Quebec City and Montreal and there was 2 inches of snow on the ground. We made daddy stop and jumped out you and I and had our first snowball fight. The snow felt cool and crisp in our hands, the air smelling sweet and new. I love how you embrace every season now. You see beauty in it all and although you haven’t been too excited about putting on layers, I know you are looking forward to those colder months. I’m hoping to take you ice skating for the first time this year, maybe even snow shoeing. Oh what fun we will have! ❤

About Yanic A.

Hello to all of you and thank you for stopping by! My name is Yanic. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband, a mother of 2 beautifully complex and unique children and a lover of all things inspiring. Having started a personal journey of self discovery when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago, I've since embraced a daily life of simpler pleasures and gratitude. As we get to know each other, you will know me as a quilter, a gardener, a Tao cultivator, a vegetarian foodie, a true believer in a healthy family life as being the secret to my happiness and hopefully as time goes on, a friend... I will try to share with you my days as they unfold, speaking of my happy successes without censoring my challenges, trying to make this blog a true portrait of the ever-changing path that I have chosen for myself. I'm hoping to find in these pages others to share with and learn from, bringing to light the absolute connection in all things and people, showing this world as being a true community.

  1. Wonderful pictures. Another thoughtful pose, wonder what he is looking at/thinking? Our children are good at reminding us to live in the moment and embrace it aren’t they?

Thank you, they truly are… At this point, he was watching the breeze making the water ripple in the small tidal pools. We were in the shade of the cliffs so he could see the bottom of the pools. They were filled with autumn leaves aand he happily spent a laarger part of that time fishing them out. 🙂

Thank you. It lasted less than a day and we got none once we got to Montreal for the week-end, but it was glorious and gorgeous for a better part of the drive. And yes indeed, nothing quite compares to that first snow!

Haha! Tell him it lasted less than a day. But we are also very excited for real snow. Once the fall color are done, we are usually pretty reay for the white stuff. 🙂

What a contrast with your weather! And I’m so late catching up here that I expect you’ve had a good helping of more snow by now, hope it’s been just as much fun.
