45/52 – Her & Him

A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2015.

IMG_3176 (1280x853) Little Miss : Early dinners, bundling up for long evening walks in the setting sun, our rhythm is settling in fast as the cold and longer nights are approaching. We have been making it a point to get out every evening we can and you have loved it. I often find you quiet, contemplative, staring at the sky, at one with all that touches you. I don’t think you can put into words exactly what nature means to you yet, but your soul knows it is the place you feel the most at home. No matter what is thrown at you (or us), all we need is an hour outside and you find your center again.  ❤

Little Man : We are finally there. You have embraced the “reality” of the weather and have stopped fighting us to put on layers. Although you still get frustrated by the restrictive nature of all that plush padding, you are still as active and agile as ever. And here mom thought that maybe (just maybe), the layers would slow you down a bit and I could catch up. But no… You are just as much my go-go getter and mom will just have to take up jogging to keep up. ❤

About Yanic A.

Hello to all of you and thank you for stopping by! My name is Yanic. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband, a mother of 2 beautifully complex and unique children and a lover of all things inspiring. Having started a personal journey of self discovery when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago, I've since embraced a daily life of simpler pleasures and gratitude. As we get to know each other, you will know me as a quilter, a gardener, a Tao cultivator, a vegetarian foodie, a true believer in a healthy family life as being the secret to my happiness and hopefully as time goes on, a friend... I will try to share with you my days as they unfold, speaking of my happy successes without censoring my challenges, trying to make this blog a true portrait of the ever-changing path that I have chosen for myself. I'm hoping to find in these pages others to share with and learn from, bringing to light the absolute connection in all things and people, showing this world as being a true community.

Thank you Kim. Yes, it was a very busy week-end and some later bed times, naps skipped and driving around made for sensitive little people. But all we need is a few minutes don’t we? It was a glorious evening. Wishing you a wonderful week my friend. xo

Ah the days of the snowsuits are here for you – they are for us too but it’s more about the rain and the puddles than the actual cold. Fingers crossed for snow and sunshine so we can all get out and about and not too much damp and rain!

It,s been borderline too cold for fall suits. My daughter has one of those heavy fall wear thing so she,s alright, but Little Man is down on the ground all the time. At 5’C, he’s at that point. I hope you guys get dryer conditions soon. Puddles are fun, to a certain extent.

  4. Lovely post as always Yanic. Nature is restoring isn’t it, we have had illness here so haven’t been out as much as we would like too.

Oh dear, I hope you all are feeling better now. We have been passing around a cold it seems… nothing enough to take us out of commission, but enough that we go through a box of tissues every day. The fresh air always helps me when I’m sick. I hope you get a break in the weather soon so you can enjoy some of that healing magic. xo

It does feel a little sad that he has to give in to the layers when he obviously finds them so unpleasant, I can imagine Maria (and Sam too in fact) really struggling with that, but hopefully now he has he can really enjoy the snow to come. And boy will it feel good to shed them all in the Spring.

Exactly… Now that he has gotten comfortable with them, he’s really fine. He even likes wearing his mittens indoors. He loves trying to pick stuff up or slide his haands on surfaces with them on. It’s quite comical. But YES! How wonderful will Spring be for him.
