48/52 – Her & Him

A portrait of my son, once a week, every week, in 2015.

Little Man : You have been walking ahead this week. We go out for our daily walks and you are 10, even 20 ft ahead of me at all times. You know where you are going, you go on without fear… but you still want us there. You turn around, look over your shoulders, you make sure we are following. This road is yours, but you want us on it too and that is such a gift. Thank you for including us. I know you can’t say the words yet, but you always make us feel so loved and wanted. ❤

Little Miss : A quiet morning, sweet friends and some art supplies and you are in heaven. We had our first of hopefully many “girls only’ outing this week-end and it was amazing. Although we love the boys, it’s nice to get dressed up in pretty outfits and head out, just the 2 of us. I promise we will make more time for this come the new year. You have been so very patient while we have been figuring things out for your little brother, you rarely complain. But our lives have reached that peaceful place again and I plan on making it up to you. ❤

About Yanic A.

Hello to all of you and thank you for stopping by! My name is Yanic. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband, a mother of 2 beautifully complex and unique children and a lover of all things inspiring. Having started a personal journey of self discovery when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago, I've since embraced a daily life of simpler pleasures and gratitude. As we get to know each other, you will know me as a quilter, a gardener, a Tao cultivator, a vegetarian foodie, a true believer in a healthy family life as being the secret to my happiness and hopefully as time goes on, a friend... I will try to share with you my days as they unfold, speaking of my happy successes without censoring my challenges, trying to make this blog a true portrait of the ever-changing path that I have chosen for myself. I'm hoping to find in these pages others to share with and learn from, bringing to light the absolute connection in all things and people, showing this world as being a true community.

  1. Your photos and words are just wonderful Yanic, I have really enjoyed reading them this year. Watching your children grow and change from afar.

A little mama daughter date, how wonderful!!! I am sure she loved it, and I bet you did too. Your little man certainly looks warm all bundled up 🙂

Hope you guys had a great Monday. xo

It’s been cold… bindling up is not an option anymore. No snow, but windy. The lack of white fluff makes it seem colder somehow.

Oh, she did! We have another little “craft date” next week. Just her and I this time, no friends along. I’m planning on surprising her with breakfast. I hope she loves it!

Hope you guys had a wonderful day as well… xox

Il est très mignon ton petit garçon dans la première photo! “Walking ahead but making sure you are following”. I love this 🙂

And I am totally in favor of “girls only outings”, even if we also love the boys. I should do it more often. Thanks for reminding me!

Il est vraiment trop chou, tout plein de vêtements chauds… Il est encore plsu mon petit nounours. And YES! A girls-date is good for the soul. We are doing it again this Saturday and the following one with friends. She is such a generous soul. She deserves to be spoiled every once in a while. ❤

Yes it has (the year has just flown by hasn’t it?) and I absolutely will. This has been such an amazing project. It has grounded me sso much, made me zero in on the details when the larger picture gets overwhelming. It has been so good for my soul.

The only thing close to being as awesome as those pictures? Your awareness of those kids. To note and appreciate the subtleties and details of each of them the way you do does the heart good.

It does look cold with you! Sounds like special craft time will be even more welcome to while away indoor time while it’s so cold outside.

It’s actually not really that cold for this time of year. It just seems colder somehow because there is no snow. At keast it will be sunny all week now. Much better than gray.
