A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2015.
Little Miss : Monkey! What a fun week-end we had. Although the snow was mostly gone by the time we got up Saturday morning, we still enjoyed the cool mild weather. The woods were calling and you couldn’t get enough. Many of our paths take us through old marshes with stumps and dead trees. Many would find them ugly or even gross, but you dive right in. Looking for insect homes, finding woodpecker feeding holes, looking for interesting mushroom, tearing bark apart with your bare hand, feeling like you are the strongest girl alive. I can’t tell you how much I love seeing you completely at one with the natural world around us. ❤

Little Man : What could I possibly write here that would do justice to the volumes this picture speaks. You light up our lives. Not a moment with you is boring, every day we spend with you is the most amazing gift. ❤

About Yanic A.
Hello to all of you and thank you for stopping by!
My name is Yanic. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband, a mother of 2 beautifully complex and unique children and a lover of all things inspiring. Having started a personal journey of self discovery when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago, I've since embraced a daily life of simpler pleasures and gratitude. As we get to know each other, you will know me as a quilter, a gardener, a Tao cultivator, a vegetarian foodie, a true believer in a healthy family life as being the secret to my happiness and hopefully as time goes on, a friend... I will try to share with you my days as they unfold, speaking of my happy successes without censoring my challenges, trying to make this blog a true portrait of the ever-changing path that I have chosen for myself.
I'm hoping to find in these pages others to share with and learn from, bringing to light the absolute connection in all things and people, showing this world as being a true community.
Oh goodness what a great capture of your little man 🙂 And I agree wholeheartedly, watching our children in nature, finding peace, and strength from Mother Nature, and being comfortable among the gifts she offers…it is so good to see.

Thank you Kim… every once in a while, he stops long enough for me to snap him up. Most days, he’s just a blurr. LOL! I don’t know where my kiddos would expand their energy if it weren’t for all their time spent outdoors. I shutter at the thought.

That was such a great moment for him. He played peek-a-boo with us for a long time. Getting to do anything for a certain period of time is hard so we are always thrilled when we find something that keeps his interest. We are finding more and more, it’s been amazing to watch him develop. I can officially say he has “interests” now. What a fun thing to find out.
