How do you know if you have a very good friend? For me, it’s always been the fact that no matter how long it’s been, no matter how much time has gone by since your last talk, the conversation will pick back up like if you had just talked yesterday.

That being said, winter is a very good friend in my book!

This was us Sunday morning :

Without missing a beat, winter came back to town and the conversation has been sparkling. We’ve laughed, we’ve been quiet, we’ve soaked each other up after all these long months. The temps have been mild enough to predict this was just a short visit, but once again, we will take the season in.

Wishing all of you dreaming of snow a good dumping really soon. And fingers crossed, we may have a white Christmas yet!

Happy midweek everyone and good night.

About Yanic A.

Hello to all of you and thank you for stopping by! My name is Yanic. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband, a mother of 2 beautifully complex and unique children and a lover of all things inspiring. Having started a personal journey of self discovery when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago, I've since embraced a daily life of simpler pleasures and gratitude. As we get to know each other, you will know me as a quilter, a gardener, a Tao cultivator, a vegetarian foodie, a true believer in a healthy family life as being the secret to my happiness and hopefully as time goes on, a friend... I will try to share with you my days as they unfold, speaking of my happy successes without censoring my challenges, trying to make this blog a true portrait of the ever-changing path that I have chosen for myself. I'm hoping to find in these pages others to share with and learn from, bringing to light the absolute connection in all things and people, showing this world as being a true community.

  2. erdhummel says:

No snow in Switzerland 😦 Instead, the trees are starting to blossom again…what a weird winter over here!

    • Yanic A. says:

Oh dear, trees blooming in winter is not a good thing. 😦 I’ve been monitoring the trees in our yard and so far, the buds are holding on. Strange season indeed!

I’ll be sending snowy thoughts and prayers your way. xo

  3. KerryCan says:

Wow–what a lot of snow and we didn’t get even a flake! I’m glad you and your dear friend had a chance to visit!

  4. Appleshoe says:

Oh it’s beautiful! We’ve been getting nothing but slushy snow that melts way to fast. So strange, ours is supposed to be a snot state. You truly have a wonderland. Everything looks so clean and crisp. Shine.

  5. Yay, you got your snow! We had some at the weekend too 🙂

  6. Marie says:

Trop beau! On en veut aussi! Mais à défaut de neige, on a tous patiné hier, c’est déjà ça 🙂

  7. Andrea says:

Fantastic! We’re still waiting for ours here (guess I should get my snow tires on in case it’s on its way).

  8. Carie says:

Oh WOW look at all that SNOW!! We never get snow like that here and oh does it look incredible!

  9. I am so jealous of your snow! We have nothing and will probably not have any for the next week or two…wah!!!

    • Yanic A. says:

I wish you had some… but I don’t honestly know what I would like better : To keep getting teased and it going away (because all that beautiful snow is now a 1/3 of what it was, mushy, brown and melting) or to wait but have snow when we finally do… But I’m grateful for these little peeks into hopefully January!

  10. mirari says:

oh yes, the snow finally arrived to you!!!! you’ll enjoy a white christmas, that’s great!
and i think so about good friends, they’re always there even if they aren’t present for X time

    • Yanic A. says:

It’s snowing again today… We were walking downtown Old Quebec to see the Christmas lights and it started snowing. How magical. I just love this time of year! Hope magic finds you…

      • mirari says:

        oh, that sounds so nice…
snow won’t come this year for christmas, let’s see if there’s something for the new year, but right now the temperatures are high

      • Yanic A. says:

I’m hoping that by miracle the snow will stay for Christmas as well, but so far, they are forecasting 5’C wednesday and 11’C thursday… Not sure our little 10 cm of snow will survive.

  11. sally says:

Oh dear, I’m so jealous! I would really love some of that. And I really love the snowman picture. He looks like he’s having a proper conversation, that snowman has character!

    • Yanic A. says:

Haha! They both had quite a bit of attitude going. But yes, that staring contest lasted a while. It was so funny to watch. 🙂 Wishing you snowy moments very soon! Crazy winter.
