10/52, 11/52 & 12/52 – Her & Him (Catch-up again… Last time I swear!)

A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2016.

(10/52) Little Miss : Your spot…looking at the ice flowing down the river in come March. You just love it. You could sit there and listen to the crackling of the ice, the crunching of the icebergs, the seagulls making their way back to our shores. There is always so much promise when the river clears and the dark blue of the water is revealed. I love how enamoured you are with the simple beauty of nature. ❤

(11/52) Little Miss : Putting on such a brave face for mommy’s camera. Truth be told, you were in day 2 of your battle with influenza and you were still trying to follow us around in the woods. We had to stop and take breaks a lot, but the fresh air did you so much good. I’m sorry you had to get so sick this year my love, but Spring will make it all better I promise. ❤

(12/52) Little Miss : Keeping up with the boys! We ran into a friend of yours from school while out at a city park. There was a huge ice hill and you wanted to try his tri-ski sled and off you went. We lost you in the woods and when you came back out, all we heard was you laughing and yelling “I ran into a tree!!!!” That is our girl! Oh the stories you will tell. I love your fierce nature. ❤

(10/52) Little Man : My wonderfully odd Little Man! I love discovering this world through your eyes. You always make me laugh, there is never a dull moment with you. It,s been harder for you now, therapy is pushing past your comfort zone,  but we’ve seen such amazing results. I know it will all be worth it. ❤

(11/52) Little Man : Curly Cue! You woke up from your nap in sweats and this is the hair that was waiting for me. LOL! You are so adorable I could just eat you up. My angel. ❤

IMG_4494 (1280x853)

(12/52) Little Man : Slipping and sliding in the bright Spring sun! We could not have asked for a better Vernal Equinox : Breakfast with grand-ma and grandpa, walks in the woods, bird watching, playing in the melting snow. I know you can’t wait to get all those layers off, we see it in your face. It,s been harder to get you outside, you’ve been fighting getting dressed. Just a few more weeks now my darling. Before you know it, we will be baking in the summer heat and you will be wondering where that nice chilly weather went. 🙂

About Yanic A.

Hello to all of you and thank you for stopping by! My name is Yanic. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband, a mother of 2 beautifully complex and unique children and a lover of all things inspiring. Having started a personal journey of self discovery when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago, I've since embraced a daily life of simpler pleasures and gratitude. As we get to know each other, you will know me as a quilter, a gardener, a Tao cultivator, a vegetarian foodie, a true believer in a healthy family life as being the secret to my happiness and hopefully as time goes on, a friend... I will try to share with you my days as they unfold, speaking of my happy successes without censoring my challenges, trying to make this blog a true portrait of the ever-changing path that I have chosen for myself. I'm hoping to find in these pages others to share with and learn from, bringing to light the absolute connection in all things and people, showing this world as being a true community.

Lol “I hit a tree”, were we ever so young? Children are made out of rubber I swear. I love her energy and spirit. And Little Man, hang in there. It’s rough, but therapy will pay off. Shine.

Oh yes, I was that young and fearless… 🙂 For the therapy, I know it will all work out. We’ve already seen so much imporvement. I just think it is hard right now because it feels like we are going backwards some days. But he is growing and learning so much… 🙂

Thank you… we are. It,s ben nice to get so much sun. Easter week-end will be a bit touch and go (snow/ice storm tomorrow night into Friday night) but we should still get to go outside a bit.

Sorry it’s been so very long since I’ve stopped by. Your kids have grown so, and are so precious. I’m sorry your daughter has had a bout with the flu, but it looks like she’s not letting that hold her down. We just got quite a bit of snow–this time of year always seems like the beginning of “real” winter in the mountains–now through May is when we get the brunt of our snow. A little long, but so necessary to keep the crops going through the dryness of summer. Many blessing to you–thanks for stopping by my blog. 🙂

I remember all that Spring time snow last year… I didn’t realize it was normal for you though, but it does make sense. I was actually really happy when we started getting regular snow mid Feb because like you, the amount of snow that melts into the ground affects a lot of our moisture during summer. I’m hoping summer won’t be too insanely balmy, but we are due.

Thank you for stopping by and saying hello! xo

Last catch up?! Dangerous words! Sometimes life is just too busy for blogging. Sorry to hear you’ve been suffering with bugs in the cold. Lovely photos still, especially love those curls!

Dangerous and very FALSE words indeed… I think every Portrait Project has had the word caatch-up in the title for the last 3 months. LOL! I’m thinking of doing a little “time management study” Keeping track of how I use my time and where I could carve out more. If only my kids wouldn’t get up so early. The amount of energy I have in the morning is insane… I guess I’m gonnaa have to find a way to energize myself in the evening. What a potato I become aafter a full day.
