A portrait of my son, once a week, every week, in 2016.
Little Man : So full of wonder this year. Last year was about bulldozing through nature, climbing, banging, throwing, stomping… This year, although much of your energy is still there, it is more directed. You get more intrigued by textures and colors. You have started looking up, noticing birds singing and the wind through the trees. I think it will be a wonderful summer of discovery… Mom will just have to keep an eye out. What you can’t see in this picture is that you chose a spot 2 feet away from a poison ivy patch! It will be a delicate balancing act, but we will find it together again. ❤

Little Miss : “Mom! Make me the Dandelion Queen and I will use my magic to make my fairy garden grow!” And that you did. So much of your efforts last year are rewarding you now. All those lupins you started from seeds are popping up, the Ground cover and perennials you planted coming back with force. You are so proud of the work you do, it is wonderful to see. Our garden fairies are so lucky to have you. ❤

It truly is… It’s always a surprise with him, what will capture his attention, what will just not register… I’m so happy nature as a whole is tops on his list!
Yes, next will be a forget-me-not chain like in her favorite book. Such simple pleasures…

Yes indeed… We are in desperate need of “taming” in the fairy area after 2 weeks away. 🙂 But there is so much life on there now, a wonderful place for fairies to spend some time.
