23/52 – Her & Him (Catch-up)

A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2016.

Little Miss : My fearless girl : We went walking to identify some plants and came across the biggest stinging nettle patch we had ever seen. So what did you do? Went walking through it. There was a pathway about 2 feet wide and you crossed your arms and walked one foot in front of the other, giggling the whole way. You asked if next year you can help me pick them. So we will get you set up with a thick pair of gloves and some shears. I love that I can share my passion of herbs with you. This is truly a wonderful gift.  ❤

Little Man : Speaking of fearless… I swear there is nothing you won’t do to test that strong little body of yours. And so independent. Dad had his hand close, but you didn’t want to grab it. You were determine to walk that “tightrope” all by yourself and you did! You are lucky mama is not too much of a worrier. I have a feeling that adrenaline will be running high pretty often. ❤

About Yanic A.

Hello to all of you and thank you for stopping by! My name is Yanic. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband, a mother of 2 beautifully complex and unique children and a lover of all things inspiring. Having started a personal journey of self discovery when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago, I've since embraced a daily life of simpler pleasures and gratitude. As we get to know each other, you will know me as a quilter, a gardener, a Tao cultivator, a vegetarian foodie, a true believer in a healthy family life as being the secret to my happiness and hopefully as time goes on, a friend... I will try to share with you my days as they unfold, speaking of my happy successes without censoring my challenges, trying to make this blog a true portrait of the ever-changing path that I have chosen for myself. I'm hoping to find in these pages others to share with and learn from, bringing to light the absolute connection in all things and people, showing this world as being a true community.

Yeah! We’ll be going back next week-end to pick some more. Just a gorgeous area. Right in the middle of the city, but away from all the traffic and bustle.

Oh, I have so many pictures of him in trees. He is truly channeling his inner monkey! 🙂

Trees are so amazing for children, but yes they can be a little scary for Mums at times! We have so many nettles in our garden that I really should try to make use of them! Do you use them for many different purposes or do you have one particular favourite thing you do with them?

I adore nettle tea… I know Kim from Mothering with Mindfulness makes nettle pesto. I’m new to nettles myself so I look forward to trying more recipes. 🙂
