Little Man : That face… who can say no to that face? No one! Not even the security guard over at the botanical gardens when you climbed into his cart. You were SO proud of yourself. Little cutie! ❤

Little Miss : 1st grade. “Yep! I’m going to real school now!” You are so excited about this new year. You get up in the morning itching to get out of the door. You were even excited to tell me you would be starting homework next week. I wonder if you’ll still be singing that tune as the years go by. LOL! But for now, your enthusiasm is infectious and I just love the sparkle in your eyes. Have a wonderful school year my love. ❤

About Yanic A.

Hello to all of you and thank you for stopping by! My name is Yanic. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband, a mother of 2 beautifully complex and unique children and a lover of all things inspiring. Having started a personal journey of self discovery when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago, I've since embraced a daily life of simpler pleasures and gratitude. As we get to know each other, you will know me as a quilter, a gardener, a Tao cultivator, a vegetarian foodie, a true believer in a healthy family life as being the secret to my happiness and hopefully as time goes on, a friend... I will try to share with you my days as they unfold, speaking of my happy successes without censoring my challenges, trying to make this blog a true portrait of the ever-changing path that I have chosen for myself. I'm hoping to find in these pages others to share with and learn from, bringing to light the absolute connection in all things and people, showing this world as being a true community.

Hello Merri, I’m sorry for all the quiet. It has been such a huge soul-searching Spring and Summer, but with the new school year comes new resolves and writing in this space of mine every week is one of them. Thank you for sticking around. xox

Nothing like the beginning of the school year to really show the mark of time passing. I was just commenting to my dad yesterday how I’m seeing it everyday. It will be a small gesture, a way of moving, a precision in an action, the fact that they suddenly don’t need my help for something… It’s beautiful, and equally heart wrenching”, to see… I have to fight every part of my being not to squeeze harder. ❤

They have Shel… they’ve grown as quickly as the weeds this year, no jokes! And her first week now has been wonderful. She loves her teacher and she’s happy to find her friends again.

He really has… he’s long and lean now, all the fat is going away, replaced by muscle. He will be an athlete, I’m sure of it!

And yes, excited doesn’t even cover it. LOL! But after her first week, I think she was really happy for the long week-end. 🙂

They did grow so much… Just looking at pictures from the beginning of the year, It’s hard to believe! Little Miss is just loving school and Little Man has adjusted wonderfully to preschool in just the few hours he’s been there. He is so well surrounded and supported there. We have found a gen of an environment for him to grow. Wishing you a wonderful week!

Thank you so much Jenny… And yes! We try and make the yard a fun magical place for them. Having her fairy garden has gotten her so involved n the life of our gardens. She gets to pick a new perennial every year to add to it. Next year, she’ll learn to split and separate out perennials that are taking too much space and planting them elsewhere in the yard. Our garden fairies are very well cared for. 🙂
