A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2015.
Little Miss : It was cold again today, but you didn’t complain. We bundled up and you were leading the pack, holding your scarf up over your face, laughing and talking the whole way. We picked up dried beech tree leaves and paper birch bark. Even in the dead of winter, you find treasures everywhere. What a beautiful mind and soul you have.

Little Man : You are growing up so fast. Just a few months ago, you were still refusing all foods that were not a total cooked mush and now, 16 teeth and you are chomping away. And my goodness do you eat. It’s wonderful to watch you grow big and strong, fed with good, wholesome and real foods, foods I’m able to make from scratch for you every day. I know you’ve never known anything else, but mama knows how better our lives are now that she is home with you and your sister. Thank you for coming into our lives and making this decision so easy for us.

They do… Our home is filled with old wine glasses overflowing with acorns, pine cones, rocks… A walk in nature is never just a walk in nature. 🙂 Have a beautiful day Robin!

Your Little Miss has a beautiful light that shines behind those lovely eyes. Keep hunting for treasures Dear. As for your son, seriously, get him to talk to mine. I’ve been making his food from real whole foods since day one and he wont eat. He only wants carbs. Feel free to share your secret. I’m listening 🙂

Thank you for the kind words.
For the food, no secrets here… except that everything goes in if it’s in the form of a pancake! LOL! Little Man is a little picky. Nothing like the stories I’ve heard of toddlers eating only 3 things, but nowhere near as easy going as his sister. She was eating curried vegetables at 10 months. He also LOVES carbs. We have a handful of fruit he likes : apples, pears, bananas, berries (sweet like blueberries and strawberries), grapes (red an green). We have a handful of veggies he likes : potatoes (white and sweet), peas, carrots, parsnips, rutabaga (he’s a root veggie man) and cucumbers (his first raw veggie). Loves tofu and scrambled eggs. Legumes have to be hidden (lots of lentils in tomato sauces and soups). But really, the trick with us is pancakes! Savory pancakes, sweet pancakes, protein loaded pancakes… I can put squash, peppers, mushrooms, minced greens… as long as it’s in the form of a pancake, he loves it! 🙂 Good luck!

Thank you… Last year would have been a completely different story. She was SO miserable. I don’t how the shift happened, but she went from hating to loving winter. I’m happy about it! Cause winter is LONG here so that is a lot of miserable. 😛
