Little hands doing delicate work

“I want to make my lunch for school today mom!”

How could I refuse. She carefully chose each component : Vegan pumpkin and chocolate muffin and cranberries for snacks, yogurt for dessert, the last of the farmer’s market heirloom cherry tomatoes and farm fresh egg salad sandwich for her main course.

“I want the bread you and dad made mom, not the store one.”

Music to my ears…

It was her first time peeling a hard-boiled egg. I thought for sure she would get tired of it quickly, but on she went. Little piece by little piece, poking her delicate fingers, but pushing on. She was about all done when she stopped and looked up at me…

“It’s like doing a puzzle backwards mom. Maybe we could play with puzzles tonight when I get home from school?”

These moments are why I became a mom. So simple, so honest, so filled with joy.

Wishing you a wonderful day.

About Yanic A.

Hello to all of you and thank you for stopping by! My name is Yanic. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband, a mother of 2 beautifully complex and unique children and a lover of all things inspiring. Having started a personal journey of self discovery when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago, I've since embraced a daily life of simpler pleasures and gratitude. As we get to know each other, you will know me as a quilter, a gardener, a Tao cultivator, a vegetarian foodie, a true believer in a healthy family life as being the secret to my happiness and hopefully as time goes on, a friend... I will try to share with you my days as they unfold, speaking of my happy successes without censoring my challenges, trying to make this blog a true portrait of the ever-changing path that I have chosen for myself. I'm hoping to find in these pages others to share with and learn from, bringing to light the absolute connection in all things and people, showing this world as being a true community.

Oh sweetie! What a darling little one you have. I feel exactly the same as you with my 5 year old son. Whenever he says something that makes me feel that he’s connect to me and to home, my heart soars!

Ahhh, what a perfect start to the day for both of you. And I seem to have suddenly got a slight craving for an egg salad sandwich, haven’t had one for years, but I think maybe that might be my lunch tomorrow now!

They are a staple here… at least once a week. She would eat them everyday I think if I let her. ๐Ÿ™‚

I understand you. Nevaeh was already so talkative at 16 months, but Boen is yet to really say a word. I’m the same way… ๐Ÿ™‚
